An exciting journey to the central India in search of Tigers and other wildlife

You will see five Indian Tiger Reserves and National Parks on this thrilling journey. The national parks of Panna, Bandhavgarh, Kanha, Pench and Satpura are all located in central India and are home to a staggering and diverse array of animal and birdlife including leopard, jackal, sloth bear, sambar, chital, barking deer, gaur, nilgai and wild boar.

Itinerary

Day 01 - Arrive Delhi

On arrival in Delhi, you’ll be met by your Indus Bound Representative and transferred to your hotel, where you’ll be staying for two nights. Spend the remainder of the day recovering from your journey, and perhaps a stroll around the local neighborhood later.


Day 02 - In Delhi

Explore Delhi today starting with Old Delhi in the morning: enjoy a cycle rickshaw ride in the bustling lanes of Chandni Chowk followed by the Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India. In the afternoon, drive past Lutyens's New Delhi and visit the tomb of Humayun and the Qutab Minar. Spend some time at the Bangla Sahib Sikh Temple for blessings and see & participate in the community kitchen.

Day 03 - Fly to Khajuraho & Drive to Panna National Park

Today, take a flight to Khajuraho. Once in Khajuraho you will be met and transferred the short distance to Panna National Park (01 Hr) where you will stay for the next two nights. Set along the Ken River, Panna is a reserve and one of great biodiversity. Predominately consisting of dense deciduous forest, the river is the lifeblood of the sanctuary with the park also designated a Project Tiger Reserve. This afternoon take a safari with a naturalist.


Day 04 - In Panna National Park

Today enter Panna National Park with our experienced naturalist. Panna is one of the best places in India to see gharial crocodile and it is also home to over 200 different bird species including buzzard, vulture and eagle. In addition, the forests and meadows support healthy populations of chinkara, sambar, chital and nilgai as well as sloth bear and tiger, although sightings of the latter are rare. 


Day 05 - Drive to Bandhavgarh National Park

After breakfast, drive to Bandhavgarh (255 Kms). Bandhavgarh is a picturesque reserve situated in the heart of the Vindhyachal mountain range. Predominately sal and mixed forest, there are also areas of grassland as well as numerous small streams that flow through the park.


Day 06 - In Bandhavgarh National Park

Morning and afternoon jeep safaris in Bandhavgarh today. The park has one of the highest densities of tiger, leopard, sloth bear, sambar, chital, barking deer, gaur and nilgai in India and is also home to rich and varied birdlife with hornbill, crested serpent eagle, partridge, variable hawk eagle and parakeet among the many different species it is possible to see.


Day 07 - In Bandhavgarh National Park

Another day of exploring the park in your jeeps at sunrise and sunset.


Day 08 - Drive to Kanha National Park

Leave Bandhavgarh for Kipling country to Kanha National Park (05-06 Hrs). Known as one of India’s most picturesque reserves, Kanha’s landscape is characterised by bamboo, deciduous hardwood forest and is home to an array of wonderful wildlife and birdlife. 


Day 09 - In Kanha National Park

Morning and afternoon jeep safaris in Kanha today. Home to tiger, leopard, bison, jackal, wild boar, sambar and Indian swamp deer, explore the park's excellent wildlife on morning and evening safaris. There have also been over 230 different species of birdlife recorded.


Day 10 - In Kanha National Park

Another day of exploring the park in your jeeps at sunrise and sunset.


Day 11 - Drive to Pench National Park

Drive to Pench National Park (04-05 Hrs) and spend rest of the day at leisure. Pench occupies a beautiful habitat of teak forest, meandering rivers and open grassland in an area of undulating terrain at the foot of the Satpura Range.


Day 12 - In Pench National Park

Morning and afternoon jeep safaris in Pench today. Aside from tiger, the park is also home to leopard, jackal and the Indian wild dog. Chital, sambar and nilgai are commonly seen as are gaur and the forest dwelling sloth bear. The birding at Pench is also excellent and there are over 250 different species.


Day 12 - In Pench National Park

Another day of exploring the park in your jeeps at sunrise and sunset.


Day 13 - Drive to Satpura National Park

After breakfast, drive to Satpura National Park (05-06 Hrs). The calm, quiet Satpura National Park is a haven for wildlife lovers, with its unique habitat, variety of rare species and wonderful setting amongst the Satpura Range. Also known as Satpura Tiger Reserve, this award-winning park opened in 1981 and is spread over 1,427 square kilometers.


Day 14 - In Satpura National Park

If you love nature today is a special treat with 2 safari drives into Satpura National Park. Your jeep safari will take you through the rugged terrain which consists of fascinating deep valleys, sandstone peaks, narrow gorges, rivulets, waterfalls and thick dense green forest. The National Park is home to a wild variety of wildlife and offers good animal spotting opportunities due to the unique terrain and many water bodies. You also have the opportunity to take a walking safari with a naturalist, the only national park where you can do so.

Day 15 - Drive to Bhopal & Fly to Delhi

After breakfast, leave for Bhopal Airport (03-04 Hrs) & fly to Delhi. On arrival in Delhi, spend time at leisure for any last minute visits.


Day 16 - Departure Transfer

At time transferred to Delhi Airport for your flight back home, or continue with your onward journey with us

When to Travel?

Central India Parks are best visited between October and November or February to April, when temperatures are comfortable throughout the day, dipping slightly at night when a light jumper should suffice if you're outdoors.
